The “Old Hollywood” shoot was Maya’s brain child. She and her mom share a love for Audrey Hepburn. As I was thinking about how we could make this shoot authentic, I thought of indoor settings, but I don’t like when I can’t control the lighting, and prefer natural light. So I set out to find a vintage car, and boy, did I hit the jackpot! In addition, I always make a Pinterest vision board for each shoot, so the girls get an idea for the look we are going for. Can I just say, they totally killed it, as you can see!
The girls chose beautiful dresses, and I brought hats, sunglasses and gloves to give a feel for our “Old Hollywood” theme.
The beauty in a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair. The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart; the place where love resides. True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It’s the caring and that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows and the beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.

Maya and Aaliyah had a great time pretending to be “Old Hollywood” movie stars. I think they pulled it off, don’t you?
For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.

Giving is living. If you stop wanting to give, there’s nothing more to live for.

I want to thank Drew, my makeup artist, and her mom Traci for letting us use their beautiful home as a backdrop. And I especially would like to thank Connie Grady and and Mr. Grady for letting us use their beautiful car for our shoot! It was a great evening!
