are you ready?
Being a teen these days is not easy. Our kids are growing up with way more pressure than we experienced. In fact, Gen Z is officially the loneliest generation in history, even though they’re more “connected” than ever before.
So why do I bring this up? As a former teacher, I care deeply about our youth. I believe Teen Team is SO MUCH MORE than pictures. (Although they totally rock)
How will Teen Team help? By providing in person group photoshoots, where the culture is to cheer for one another and build each other up. In addition, there will be the added benefit of meeting girls from other schools and expanding their social network. I know how to build safe spaces where youth are free to show up as themselves.
I can promise you this: if your teen is excited about being part of this group, I will work my hardest at providing them with not only photos, but an amazing community experience.

QUESTIONS
How many styled shoots are there?
The team will run October through April. There will be one themed shoot per month and the girls can choose the 4 they want to participate in. Some of the themes are as follows: Fall fun, colorful murals, Christmas, New Years, Pink Out February, In my _____ era (Pick one of Taylor Swift's eras, or create your own) There will be a sign up sheet sent out in advance.
If they want to participate in more than 4, there will be an option to add on. Don't forget you get a 20 minute mini family session in April! This will be at Botanica with the tulips. I will create 2 dates, but please note that these are the only dates for mini sessions available.
I'm really busy -I'm not sure I have time for this?
All teens are busy! This is ultimately something you'll need to decide for yourself, but you will know the dates well in advance so that you can ask off work. If you miss a shoot you can be sure there will be another one you can participate in.
When are the styled shoots?
The styled shoots will most often take place on the second Sunday of the month. You'll know way in advance so that you can ask off work. I like to shoot during the last two hours of daylight, as that is when the light is prettiest. So in the fall, it will be around 4-6 ish, and in the winter - 3-5 ish.
What do I wear?
For the styled shoots, I make a Pinterest Inspiration board to give you ideas of the general vibe. I'm not super picky, and I generally want you to be yourself. I do have general recommendations of what photographs best! Also, for the styled shoots, feel free to thrift, borrow, etc. Great deals can be found! I also have a small style closet of dresses that you can borrow!
