I’ll be honest with you: the photos are just the visible part. As a personal branding photographer in Wichita, I can tell you that what you see at the end of a session — images that feel like you, that stop the scroll, that make people say ‘wait, who is she?’ — those don’t happen by accident. They are the result of a very intentional process I’ve spent years refining with many women entrepreneurs just like you.

“Visibility is transformative. And when a woman truly sees herself, everything changes.”

That belief is baked into every single step of this process. Here’s what that actually looks like:

The Discovery Call — Where It All Begins

Before I ever pick up my camera, we talk. Not a quick intake form, not a generic questionnaire — a real conversation. My background is in teaching, and one thing 24 years in the classroom taught me is that connection is everything. I cannot photograph who you are if I don’t actually know who you are.

On our pre-shoot Zoom call, we dig into your brand: your values, your voice, the clients you’re calling in, and the version of yourself you want the world to see. We talk about the story your current photos are telling — and whether that story is actually yours.

The Brand Questionnaire

Once you’ve booked, I send out a detailed brand questionnaire. We’ll uncover your voice, your values, where you’re going, where you’ve been, the words that will guide our strategy. Because this is way more than a portrait session. It’s an intentional storytelling session that is used to tell the story of what it’s like to work with you, and attract your ideal clients.

Your Brand Planning Session

After diving into your questionnaire, we start planning your brand stories. We build a Pinterest inspiration board, and I pull inspiration for each story. We will have about an hour long Zoom planning session where we discuss your questionnaire, outline the stories you want to tell, brainstorm locations, discuss outfits, ,makeup and styling. Professional makeup is available in the Boss Babe and Bougie Brilliance packages, and professional styling is included in the Bougie Brilliance package. Styling can be added on to any collection, and is a really valuable resource!

The Brand Photoshoot Map

It outlines everything you’ll wear, a shot list for each outfit, locations, b-roll list, and a list of props to bring. Everything is planned, intentional, and designed to tell the story of your brand.

Location Scouting — Your Background Is Part of Your Brand

I scout locations intentionally, and not just for aesthetics. The right backdrop reinforces your brand message without competing with it. A minimalist studio communicates one thing; a beautifully designed boutique model home communicates something else entirely. We choose based on you — your vibe, your brand colors, the story we’re telling. I adore using the Perfection Builders model homes who I partner with. They are beautifully styled and allow for gorgeous backdrops for any profession.

Full sessions include two to three locations, which means variety in your gallery and plenty of options for every platform, from your website hero image to your LinkedIn headshot to your Instagram grid.

Shoot Day — Hype Woman Fully Activated

This is my favorite part, and not just because I love being behind the camera. I love what happens to women when they finally give themselves permission to take up space and be seen. It is something I will never get tired of witnessing.

On shoot day, I am not just your photographer. I am your director, your hype woman, and the person who notices when your posture shifts because you just thought of something that lights you up — and captures that exact moment. I give gentle, specific direction so you never feel lost or stiff. I keep the energy high, the conversation real, and the atmosphere relaxed, because genuine expression only happens when you feel safe enough to let it. We play music AND I show you the back of the camera so you can see how your images are translating in real time.

My sessions do not feel like a typical photo shoot. They feel like hanging out with a friend who also happens to know exactly how to make you look extraordinary on camera.

Culling & Editing — Where the Magic Gets Refined

After your session, I review every single frame with your brand vision in mind. I’m not just looking for technically sharp images — I’m looking for the ones where you are fully present, authentically expressed, and radiantly yourself. Those are the ones that do the work on your website, your social media, and every platform where someone encounters your brand for the first time.

My editing approach is intentional and consistent. I edit for skin tones that are true-to-life, lighting that feels natural and flattering, and an overall tone that aligns with your brand palette. Your gallery will feel cohesive — not like 30 images taken on 30 different days by 30 different photographers.

Full sessions include 30 to 60 final edited images. Quarterly mini sessions include 10 beautifully edited images delivered within your gallery turnaround window. I lightly edit the best images (usually between 100-150), and you’ll choose your favorites. After you choose, I fully edit them, and deliver your beautiful gallery. But this is not the end!

Gallery Delivery — And What Happens After

Your gallery is delivered via a beautiful, easy-to-use online platform. I include download instructions, file format guidance, and notes on how to use your images strategically across different platforms — because a gorgeous photo buried in a folder on your desktop helps exactly no one.

I want your investment in these images to work for you long after shoot day. That means I care about what happens after delivery: whether you’re updating your website, refreshing your LinkedIn, or finally building the Instagram presence your business deserves, these photos are designed to do heavy lifting for your brand.

The goal: You open that gallery, see yourself the way I see you, and think — finally. That is the woman I have been trying to show the world.

The Real Secret Behind the Process

It would be easy for me to say the secret is my lighting setup, or my camera system, or 13 years of technical experience. And yes — all of those things matter. But the truth is, the reason my clients walk away with images they are genuinely proud of is because I treat every session like it matters. Because it does.

You are not just booking a photographer. You are investing in how the world sees you — and more importantly, in how you see yourself. I take that seriously every single time, whether it’s your first session or your fourth.

The women who book with me are not women who have arrived. They are women who are ready to be seen as they are becoming. That distinction matters, and it shapes everything about how I approach this work.

If you’ve been waiting until you feel “ready” or “successful enough” to invest in professional brand photos — this is me gently calling that out. You don’t get visible by waiting. You get visible by showing up.

Ready to See Yourself Differently?

Whether you’re exploring a full branding session or our quarterly minis, I would love to learn more about your brand and talk through what’s possible for you.
